However, in this movie, Julian was never expelled from Beecher Prep for bullying Auggie
Line of Events
Trying to fit in at a new school after being expelled for dating Auggie Pullman, Julian visits his grandmother and is transformed after learning of her attempts to escape Nazi-occupied France during World War II. The film was originally scheduled for release on September 16, 2022, but was pushed back to October 14, 2022. Later that month, the film was quietly pulled from the schedule and rescheduled to August 25, 2023 due to low box office in the fall (2021), and again rescheduled to an unspecified date due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Grandma mentions that Julian got kicked out of Beecher Prep because of his bullying of Auggie in Miracle (2017). He received a two-day suspension, and after hearing this, his parents decided to take him out of school at the end of this school year..
Julian Albans: Whatever
Julian Albans: Right now, I’m just asking to enroll. This is kind of my motto since I left my old school. Grandma: What? Julian, you haven’t left your old school. You were expelled for being cruel to another boy.
Just be normal
You know what I mean. If I learned something then, it’s just to do your own thing. Don’t be mean, don’t be nice. Grandmother: So what did you learn? Be normal?
Followed by Čudo (2017)
Julian Albans: What’s wrong with normal? Grandma: Nothing. And all.. It Can’t Be Wrong written by Kim Gannon, Max Steiner and performed by Vera Lynn. In a world where violence and action always take responsibility, sometimes we need to stop and enjoy a good movie.
This film really touched me in many ways, its character development is outstanding, and the director’s way of delivering the message is also phenomenal
I would sincerely advise every parent to give this movie a chance and watch it with their children, because the movie has some really deep and meaningful life lessons throughout the movie, a movie that teaches us (especially the younger generation) to love and be kind to others instead to be mean and use others to bully our way to the top. Highly recommended!
